So, through a Time Machine mixup and reformatting machines etc, I managed to wipe the music from my Mac. However it is still on my iPhone. But I cannot figure how to trasnfer the audio files back to the computer using iTunes.

Any ideas?

iTunes allows to load only purchased music but not ripped from CD, at least according to this thread. So you will need a third-party app if this is the case.

About recommendations, +1 for iMazing. Bit expensive but one-time purchase of the major version and works good.

What exactly do you mean? Copying music from NAS to the phone (or vice versa)?

I just want to pit music from Nas to iOS music app without having to use iTunes. I know it can be down through a paid cloud subscription through Apple Music but i was wondering if there is another way....?

Well as it's on NAS I assume it's local ripped music, so iMazing will work in this case too. It shouldn't care if the music is on a local, external drive or NAS. Test the transfer of several tracks with trial.

p.s. Just keep in mind that transfer speed from NAS is slow, so be patient and don't export 10k tracks in one batch :)

Edit: p.s.s. Here's the guide on import if you'll decide to give it a try.

Thanks for all the info

But if it was possible to do the above directly from Nas without even opening the computer. For photos i can transfer photos from Nas to camera roll and then organize them as I want.....

It would be really hard :D Don't know man, I would play with VLC/Infuse/Documents by Readdle, but don't think that there's an app that will be able to import music from NAS directly to native Music app. Let me know if you'll find any!
