I'm looking to copy some pictures on my hard drive onto a SD card to view on my Canon camera. I have a SD card reader plugged into my USB port and can copy the .jpeg pictures onto the card. When I try to view the pictures on the camera, I get the message, "invalid file format." Any clues?

Have you looked at the structure of an SD card coming right from your camera?

They usually have some folders, specific to the model sometimes, in which pictures go.

Also the camera might use another JPEG profile than you did save the pictures you wanna have a look at in.

What camera do you have and where do you put the images and what JPEGs do you use?

Format the sd card on your camera first, then try and transfer the pix....

Were the pictures taken with the camera you were putting them on? Most cameras will not display other pictures because they have unreadable tags in the metadata and possibly even the wrong aspect ratio on the pictures...
