Copy program data

Hi all,

Just acquired a 2013 Imac:😀 as my Dad couldn't get used to it after all these years with windows 🙄

Is it possible for me to backup certain programs that are already on the machine, installed from cd, before i completely re-install yosemite?

Normally no. Programs installed by CD installers normally install more than just the stand alone app package and also install support files in different folders.
