I'm trying to get a finished movie (a Quicktime file) and I was wondering how I could copy it to the miniDV tape in my camera. I know there is a way to do this in Final Cut Pro (Print to video) but my iMac only has a FW 800 connector and I don't have any 800 cables. My Windows PC has a FW 400 connector, however. So is there any software for Windows that will let me do this?
Does Windows Movie Maker do DV exporting? When I used to do this, I used a program called ScenalyzerLive, but it wasn't free. Great little utility, though. Try WinDV: http://windv.mourek.cz/
Why don't get a FW 4-pin to 9-pin cable? They cost around 5-10€. You could also give Premiere Pro CS4 a try, it even has a fully functional 30 day trial on Adobe.com. With that you should be able to print to tape.
