So I'm trying to bring my backup back over from my harddrive onto my macbook after installing leopard.

Its a fairly large folder, 74.3GB, it's just a clone of the way my Macintosh HD used to be....and I just want to transfer the whole thing back over, that way I'll have it local (i'm not trying to overwrite anything)

but every time I try to transfer, it stops at "preparing to copy 45,154 files" .... at exactly 45,154 ... as far as I know, there are no corrupt files, I use the drive all the time, and I can scan through the backup... it just won't copy it to my harddrive... any ideas?

oh, and it won't stop, I have to force quit finder and relaunch.

this is starting to get annoying, I need to be able to get that file off the drive... everytime it fails at 45,154

Can you bring items across in batches? Have you used Disk Utility to verify and possibly repair the drive? 🙂
