Hello,

I was just copying some files to an external usb hard drive and I notice how long it takes to copy 450MB. I have a folder with 5,450 JPGs in low resolution and it's taking forever to copy to the external hd. What could be happening?

What kind of drive is the source and your external? And how long is "forever"?

I'm copying from a Macbook Pro to a Seagate External HD... it took like 20 minutes.

The iPhone took less to copy 5GB of music..

It's possible the CPU has to work harder to get those files. I find some folders take longer to copy than others with the same amount of stuff. Not sure why. Something with the permissions or hierarchy perhaps?
