What I have seen so far of Core Animation (Stevenotes, :apple:.com) really impresses me. I was blown away by the demo app @ WWDC... But I don't really understand what it is exactly. It seems to be some sort of programming language (or add-on). Can anybody explain?

Do you think that someone who is surely NOT a programmer will be able to play with this? Are you expecting some sort of WYSIWYG-editor for basic Core Animation? I'm thinking of photos in Keynote or menu options in iMovie.

Any thoughts?

Right, it's really a programming technology, a set of prepackaged zoomy effects that can be incorporated into software.

It's likely that it will turn up as something non-programmers can control in things that do presentations (iPhoto, Keynote, that sort of thing).
