Bout read to throw this Mac Mini at the wall over this but I need to run Mojave for a legacy editing app so this 2018 i7 quad core has me at the end of my rope. CPU usage is over the top on coreaudiod with all apps OFF. Consistent 80% average. Reinstalled Mojave twice. Zero effect. Checked different machine with Mojave and editing apps. Zero issue on it. WTF? Nothing at all makes sense about this. No apps are running in the background. Simple mono recording app. Even with my audio interfaces decoupled same result. Fan also frequently firing up. Nothing's changed recently - but this thing acts like its constantly pinging for power...like something is continuously 'taxing' it.
