It seems like Apple dropped the bucket when they switched to Core Storage in Yosemite. It made living hell for data recovery companies.

Just wanted to post this. Nothing constructive to see here.

Data recovery companies themselves make money out of user incompetence and neglect. Apple gives you enough tools to perform backups in a secure and convenient way. Besides, the SSDs are a much bigger problem for data recovery than Core Storage.
