its been doing that lately, i have no clue what caused it, is it hardware problem? or something in my os x is faulty? thanks in advance!

What are you doing when this happens? Have you got Garageband installed because you can reset the core audio by simply opening then closing Garageband. Worth a try but I doubt it'll help. 🙂

it's like that on both my iBook and iMac. Been a problem all the time, and never ever seen it working.

That's been noticed by a lot of people, and it seems to be more of a quirt with Activity Monitor than anything. Are you having actual audio problems or just seeing that "not responding" note?

the audio was fine, and when i close the coreaudiod task, it shut off the speaker and turn on again....

I get the same. When running Cubase or Logic I just loose all sound. I have to close them, kill coreaudio, and then reload the apps. Does it in other apps such as iTunes also.

does this look right?
im still getting all the sound and everything...
but i really annoys me

Thanks for the comment about Garage Band. I will uninstall it. Now the result was; After I restarted the machine, it happens after few minutes.

Maybe I need some more inputs? thanks
