I love this iPod design. I still use my blue 16 Gig iPod on a daily basis. I just wish it would have more storage. Heck I would even buy the new ugly iPod Nano if it would have 32 Gig of storage.

"3D-shaped".

Time to assassinate the Corning marketing department, they have nothing left to offer the planet.

"The relationship with GTOC allows Corning to provide a "one-roof" solution. "We can now take Gorilla Glass all the way from flat sheet to a finished 3D-shaped product in Asia...""

So, does this mean that Corning is moving production of Gorilla Glass to China? Every time a US Manufacturer sets up shop in China, they have to take on a local partner and transfer technology to the partner. Why don't we just pack up and give China the keys.

I think its time we went beyond glass, yes there are many variants and Corning make the current glass panels in the iPhone 4 if correct.

Now we should be using Sapphire Crystal, instead of glass. Its stronger, almost scratch proof, does not have issues with fingerprints, and therefore no need for Apple's oleo phobic coating to reduce fingerprints (which I am sure wears off over time just like any coating which is not sealed inside the glass, but layered on top), no shattering of screen, no need for screen protectors (you can still buy them and use them).

I am not aware if Sapphire Crystal can be used on curved surfaces, but if it can I think it would match the iWatch perfectly as well. Time to move to Sapphire Crystal I say :)

Me too! I've always wished the magic mouse had a screen on the bottom. :p

Why is it that every concept looks like an existing Apple product except thinner and with less bezel? Not much imagination.

Unless it's concave a curved display will be impossible to keep from getting scratched,
it will be constantly be exposed to hard surfaces and impacts. Just like the crystal of a
wrist watch.

I like this concept.

A major problem I see with that design is that the headset plug is on the side. My old Blackberry Storm was the same way, and it eventually broke as a result of the stress created every time the phone when in and out of my pocket with the headset attached.

Apple has invested quite a bit on sapphire crystal, but i am not sure that the production back end is ready to support such a large jump/increase in production at the costs desired by apple to maintain their margins. Then again, I am not privy to the details of what apple and partners have been able to acheive with their investments...I think OEM's are just begining to scratch the surface of curved displays and things like pressure sensitivity and multi touch..Give these processes/technology to your industrial designers and software developers and let their imagination run wild as far as a newer more fresh expereince for the user..I am sure a lot of companies around the world will attempt innovative things with curved displays..be it in TV's, phones or wearables ..
