Coronavirus and Pulse Oximetry

With this thing about to do the rounds sadly I have seen online that pulse-ox is a good way to keep tabs on the seriousness of your condition if you are infected and have the associated breathing difficulties.
With the watch being able to do this already according to sources online and given the circumstances, I wonder if Apple might activate this feature?

I don't think it will do O2 saturation. It perhaps can, but I wonder if there are regulatory issues that have limited Apple from making it available.

Yea I saw that. Would be great if they released it to older watches if capable as apparently the pneumonia phase can lead to hypoxia and this would be a great indicator. Knowing Apple though it will be exclusive to the new model.
