I'm looking to buy the Asus MG279Q IPS 2K 144Hz monitor and don't know which card (in both AMD and Nvidia side) is the minimum required to move that display fluidly and with no issues whatsoever.

Both in AMD and Nvidia.

I know with AMD I'll get FreeSync but want to know which Nvidia card would also be required.

I found a good PC build with 1660 graphics card for 899€.

Thanks!

If you're worried about potential issues, buy G-Sync.
Not worried about that.

I'm not gonna play in 2K, but want the OS to be fluid in 2K and play games in 1080P 120fps or so and I'm happy.

Those two things.

Go for the RTX 2070 if you want constant frames at or near 144fps on most games at 1080p 144hz using high or ultra settings.

Not even the Titan RTX reaches 100fps@1080p at the highest settings in all games.

If you're going to compute, buy Vega, not Navi.
