Hello guys

I’m a bit uncomfortable to update Watch OS on my white watch. Is it worth it? I’m afraid that the new features don’t account for potential issues I might have.

How do you feel about losing force touch, is it a stopper for updating?

Overall, are you satisfied with the update?

Or would you recommend to wait for Watch OS 7.2?

I would wait ... I did the early update and had to unpair/pair, its p.i.t.a.
What I like is the enhanced battery capabilities, eg now I know that my battery is at 90% capacity after 2 years (but if I would have found that out in 2 month with 7.2 ... well in hindsight ...).
New watchfaces? meh
Sleep tracking? don't do that, so meh

i updated MY white watch (haha) and also having the meh feeling..

New faces: i do love typograph so that's cool.. otherwise the rest are bleh..
Force touch: i did miss it, but just get used to long press and it'll be ok. just feeling what a waste of a force touch capability
Sleep: i'm using it, and i don't really like it. It's not intelligent enough to auto-off when you're awake (like how autosleep is) and will keep tapping the alarm if you forget to turn if off when awake. I was in the middle of squats workout and my wrist kept getting vibrations.. so annoying!
Battery: initial huge drain, which became more stable over time, so not that bad there..

Not sure if i should have updated, but i guess the typograph face is really saving it for me..?

You haven't charged your battery in two years?! That's some serious power!

;)

Hello there

Almost once a week I have a notification to update to WatchOS 7.1 and the badge appears. Even if I selected don’t download/install in settings (iPhone) and if I delete manually the 1.2 GB update on my Watch, restart my phone, few days later it’s popping up again.

Is this a way to force update the Watch?

Battery life on the most recent update has been very good. I slept with it last night, wore it all day without taking it off, went for a three mile outdoor walk and it’s still at 40%. Series 5.

I usually have this routine.
I charge the Watch from 8 to 10:30pm. I wear it during the night. I wake up around 6:30am and usually the battery is at 90%, except this week, it is at 80%.

I go on with my day, including a walk for 3 hours, workout activated.

Then at 8pm I usually have between 15 to 20% left and I charge it.

I bought it last year in white toilet color.

Today I unpaired it to check if I can get a better battery life. I’ll wait for 7.2 or 7.3 before updating it.
