Hey everyone. Just wanted to let everyone know that Costco will be having the MacBook Pro 13” on sale for $1499. Regular price on apples website is $1799. I was planning on picking up the base model but I might jump at this deal. The deal starts 9/4 and it’s the model with 256 GB, i5 processor 2.4 GHz.

Thanks. Is it the new 2019 model or last years ?

Looke like Best Buy this weekend only has the same model on sale for $1399.99. $300 off regular price, then an additional $100 off for my best buy rewards members. You have to be logged in as a member and the laptop has to be in your cart to see the deal.

I do not think you can find a better deal on this model.

Are there ever deals like this on the models with 16GB RAM or is that always a special order?

Sometimes, but deals like this are normally always at Apple authorized re-sellers (Best Buy, B&H Photo, etc). Best Buy normally does not carry anything other than the "standard" configurations. B&H carries more of the "non-standard" configurations, so your best bet would probably be look there, or maybe Amazon... but the deal that Best Buy has right now is hard for anyone to beat. Normally you see $100-200 off the latest models, $400 off is a really good deal.

Sometimes the cheapest price is not the best deal. I'll gladly pay $100 extra for Costco's two-year warranty and their 90 day, NO HASSLE return policy. Dealing with Best Buy has always been a bear to me; they always rake you over the coals about your return, which is only 14 days by the way. The last time I returned something, they printed out a notice for me to sign saying that I had made too many returns in the last 30 days (two to be exact.) And they told me if I did it again, I wouldn't be a able to return anything for a year or something like that. Huh? It was all so mind boggling. Anyway, long story short, I avoid BB like the plague. Costco all the way for my money.

Yea I agree, it depends on situation. I’m a Best Buy elite member so my return policy is pretty lax with that program and extends it and takes the hassle away. I’ve heard a lot of people that have had bad experiences with Best Buy, personally I never have. It’s subjective and depends on personal preference. You won’t see $400 off this model really anywhere else I don’t think, so the deal is a good one imo.

Obviously I haven't see the document you signed, but that seem like shaky ground to me. Sure, you can agree to sign whatever you want, but I'm skeptical that they could force you to sign it. Maybe the right answer is just to not sign it?

Plus the $100 student discount available to anyone who signs up for it gives you a $500 discount. Hard to find a better deal.

Thanks for this, I had no idea the student deal stacked. I called my local Best Buy to confirm and they said some do qualify for the stacking but some models don’t. I am about to grab the MV962LL/A and she confirmed this model does allow you to stack the deals. Crazy good deal.

I am about to do the same as well, great deal.

I hopped on this deal, I purchased the 2019 base model a week or so prior but realized the 128 GB storage was not cutting it for me. I decided to return the base model and paid $1299 for the 256 GB version that cost $1799 at the Apple Store. I couldn't pass up on this plus I get an extended warranty for using my Amex.

do you have a Best Buy link for this? I don't think they have the 2019 2.4 on sale.... at least not here....

It’s in their booklet they mail out to members. They send it out about once a month so you know what’s going to be on sale.

Here’s what I found out about the Best Buy model... you can get last years 2018 version for $500 off making it $1299. If you want this years updated model it will cost you $1399 which is $100 cheaper than Costco, But Costco gives you a second year of warranty and their return policy is better. Just my thoughts.
