The chevre is the best deal I've seen anywhere, as is the fresh mozzarella. Really? I was not a fan of Adam's peanut butter. Though I've hated it for decades. Their Kirkland brand peanut butter wasn't good either. I've yet to come across a natural peanut butter that's as good as homemade. Trader Joe's used to make a good one with Valencia peanuts before they changed supplies.

The Redwood City Costco sells boxes of macarons from a bakery next door and they're delicious :) That's the only reason I've gone to Costco recently lol. Otherwise, I do like their big bags of trail mix.
Yep. Nearly ever Costco will sell something made locally or regionally. The NY area Costcos have a heavier influence on European imports to satisfy the needs of the populace there. They also go all out during Jewish holidays.

Really depends on the location, Mike. The manager at the one we go to regularly told us that the Lancashire Bombs from Shorrock's will be coming to all locations this fall and through the new year because people loved them so much the last time. There's a couple other Costcos outside of a 100 mile radius we've gone to when we've traveled and stayed somewhere or rented out one of those lakeside houses for groups of six or more. They don't cut it compared to our "locals."

I did spot some out of stock items that are here seasonally which I was not able to get after they parted last summer. I'd placed a rain check on those and was told to come sometime this week after Wednesday when they get the truck containing those items. There are a few things I've wanted to try from them but was always hesitant. The tuna steaks being one of them. It's not worry as the meat and seafood department of our nearest one goes through a few thousand pounds of meat and seafood a day, or so I'm told. The steaks are simply too big and would be difficult to sear properly.

Our nearest location is absolutely cool with you knocking on the door and asking for a custom or better cut. The bakery has the same policy. Don't like what's on display? Knock and nicely ask. They're more than happy to accommodate. They also had white guavas the size of your fist! Very different cultiver than what we usually see. Unfortunately, we'd already bought some last week and we're waiting them to ripen. At least the butler's pantry smells very nice.

Going back to cheese, aged Gouda, Rembrandt, has come back. Though I foresee poor sales as it has before. Manchego is one of the most popular cheeses. I saw a woman dump about 20 lb worth of wedges into her cart the other day. That's roughly $180 worth of cheese assuming the per pound rate hasn't changed since I last bought it back in December, I think it was.

The fig spread they had last summer and this last winter was not around. I guess it wasn't popular. We didn't like it much either, with cheese or plain bread, due to the vanilla and other spices.

Saw this thread in the side bar and got curious lol.

Costco got rid of my favorite frozen noodle bowls (shrimp wonton) that was seriously worth the drive and fighting the crowds to get. Six for 10 bucks or something like that, now that its gone the only thing keeping me there is the red bull for a buck fiddy/8oz, thats cheaper than Walmart.

If it weren't for the fact I have had so much luck with Kenmore, we probably would have bought our appliances there.
It's pretty incredible. From the price comparison I've been doing a Costco Samsung Suite of 4 appliances (fridge, range, dishwasher, and microwave) is anywhere from $500 to $800 cheaper than buying the same at Best Buy, Lowes, Home Depot, etc.

I just bought membership voucher. I just hope I don't regret it because I heard about the traffic, lines, and police at the door. But what prompted me is because I like to go to Trader Joe's for certain things, but it's a 45minutes drive which I'm getting tired of. So I hope the hassle worth it.
