If I was in your position, I'd return the refurb to do this deal. A $200 savings is pretty nice.I'm actually tempted to go for this now. I just purchased a MBA i5, 16GB, 256 from the refurbished store (with military discount), the difference compared to this deal is about $200. However, this deal has i7, and most importantly Costco's 2+2 years extended warranty. Which means I won't have to pay extra to get the Applecare. What do you all think? Return the refurbished one and just go for the one from Costco?

Well, in that case, do you really need the i7? I'd stick with the i5 and Applecare+.Sorry, I should add, this deal is actually $200 more. But it has i7, and Costco's 4 years warranty. I should have made it clear.

No neither of those issues are solved. However for $20 more you get an i7 (might not be useful) but you get Costco 2+2 years of warranty. We have a MBA i5, 16gb, 256 that we ordered for $1179 and it comes this week. We could have a i7 for 20 bucks more right now ?! Sheesh - must be clearing inventory for the new MBA Apple Silicon version soon - it will probably come with a 1080P camera and no heat isses as well. Ugh !View attachment 942548

I was just joking (kinda) that with my luck - two months from now the new Apple Silicon MBA is released solving all issues in the Intel 2020 MBA
I am going to check what the return policy is with the Apple order we are about to get. I really dont think the i7 (over i5) is going to make a notable difference for my daughters school work, zoom classes, and minecraft.
You get 14 days to return. I think the new MBA with silicon is gonna kick the butt of the ones we have
I think so as well. If I knew it was coming in two months maybe I would wait. However I have read maybe end of year, or even very early next year and thats too late for fall classes. However the 2020 MBA with i5 should be ok for her needs for a few years.
