Do you spend much time on the couch surfing the web, emailing, working etc?

What's your computer of choice?

Right now I have a 15" MBP that I'm trying out ... I like the extra screen size ... not sure about the extra size/bulkiness and extra 1lb in weight, it's noticeable ... BUT the 15" screen is so clear/pleasing to look at so far I think it's worth it over the 13". I have an Air too but the fan runs hard, it's a little slower and lacking ports...

I spend a lot of time on the couch, lazy-boy in the Den working, I'm much more productive away from a desk in a relaxed environment ... haven't spent much time at the office for years yet I run my company which has gross sales in excess of a few million a year ... so it can be done!

I'll often use my iPhone as well for a quick check of emails or a quick read of a news site ... I've got the iPad now it sits on the coffee table in front of me ... I rarely reach for it ... I wish it wasn't the case but for my work and uses it serves little purpose ... no flash, bulky to carry out when the iPhone serves that same purpose for me ... otherwise I'll bring one of my notebooks ...

Peace

Up until I got an iPad I'd use my netbook. If I couldn't be bothered with that I'd use my iPhone. Right now, it's the iPad.

i was using a 17 for couch surfing at it was too big. it was hard to sit om the couch with such a big laotop.

i now have a 15 i7. the only thing i miss is the high res screen, which can ordered.

I cheat. I use an IKEA laptop table ("Dave" is the model name) when couch surfing. Core i7 15" Hi-Res Matte + Samsung 55" LED 1080p 240 hz + Discovery & History Channels + Kentucky Bourbon = me in bliss.

Since my current choice is either my iMac or my iPhone, I don't think I would be very comfortable with my iMac on top of me--but hopefully in the future my choice will change to an iPad.

If they made a 13 or 15" iPad, I would jump for it in an instant.
Until then, I'm sporting the 15" MBP.

interesting to see the 15" MBP doing so well ... even though it's heavier and not the lightest to use on the couch/chair people must really like the screen size and/or extra power available in the 15"?

True, almost always the bigger the screen you can manage the better - especially if you're working/viewing for long hours at a time.

For sure, a 15" iPad, the same weight as they are now and/or a 15" MacBook would be amazing!

Just got my first Mac 2 weeks ago.

Got the 15" i5

So I use that all the time on the couch. I had a Toshiba laptop before that but the battery would only last about a hour on battery so I wouldn't really use it that much on the couch.

iPad. I will never contort on the couch with a notebook ever again.

It doesn't much matter with my setup for couch surfing. It's a 15" i7 hi-res matte but you never see it when you use it like this. :D

55" Samsung LED 1080p 240Hz, Magic Mouse, BT Keyboard, IKEA laptop desk.

Now that's pretty cool!

How's that IKEA laptop desk for being able to pull close to you on the couch?

Works very well. It has a single post that's pretty far back and is meant to do exactly that, be pulled in over your lap while seated. It can also be angled, possibly for reading I guess because I can't imagine using my laptop at that angle. IKEA sells them for about $18. Dirt cheap.
