I went to my friends place yesterday to spend the night, watching movies, play a few rounds of counter-strike and maybe i might get some school work done. We played a few rounds of CS, i check my charecter on WoW and then we watched a movie. I did not have my MBP with me which i thought i would not need. I used my friends vaio to search a few things online and maybe get 3-4 pages done. I had pop-up problems from the internet, pop-up problems from windows itself, everytime reminding me of everything. It took me ages to get anything done, i normaly listen to music while i type which i could not do well on it, windows media player decided that it did not like the songs i picked and crashed. Half way in the middle of my work the laptop decides to freeze for 2 mins. After it got working i was about to save my work when the little bugger restarted. 3 hours of work gone, i am back home with my MBP redoing everything i did lastnight (except counter-strike and watching a movie).

Lesson learned:

Always have your laptop (mac) with you.

Not the kind of environment to realistically get anything done anyway. Of course if you're MacBook was with you, you could have procrastinated in style.

It sounds like your friends computer just needs a good scrubbin with Ad-Aware and a little TLC with hijackthis.
