Upon turning on my Mac Pro the audio midi app is completely blank and I can’t open up sound preference pane in system preferences. I heard a loud noise which I thought might be a bad fan upon starting up my Mac and turned it off. On restart the noise went away but this problem started. It could have been coincidence but worth noting. What can I do that doesn’t involve reinstalling the OS.
