Could not remove "network home" from dock

For some reason, there is an item labeled as myname's network home right left to the default download folder. It always shows as a question mark. I tried many times to remove it from the dock without success - it always goes back to where it was after I dragged it somewhere else. The options did not have a delete choice either. How should I get rid of this annoying question mark on my dock?
