Simple! Rename the app to "Install OS X Yosemite" and use DiskMakerX. Point it to that renamed file in Applications. Install. I'm running it now.

I tried this but I'm still getting an error

"Sorry, your OS X Install app or DMG may be incomplete. Delete your install application, then download it again from the App Store."

Burn it to USB using SuperDuper and then choose it by holding option on reboot. Super duper was the only thing that worked for me.
