Could Sudden movement sensor prevent boot?

Ok - since I had about 350 people read my other thread but got no answers... let me try just asking this:

If I am upgrading to an SSD for my late 2008 MBP - and the computer doesn't boot after copying the original HDD... could it be the sudden movement sensor isn't "happy" with the new different sized SSD?

Do most of you who install an SSD disable the SMS via the terminal?
