I dont see why early iPhone buyers should get a $100 credit. they didn't have the patience to wait a month for a phone and now they're complaining about a price drop?!
They knew this was going to happen. It's not like they didn't know they price was going to be inflated the first month so why are they complaining now?
 They act like this is the first time a major electronic has recieved a major price cut. (as if iPods never existed)

what are you talking about? why do you say "they didn't have the patience to wait a month"? they had no idea that there would be such a big price drop after such a short time. i have no idea where you get the idea that "they knew this was going to happen"..that they "knew the price was going to be inflated (in) the first month". they were upset because, apart from aperture, they had not seen apple do this (in such a time frame) before. and a lot of them know a lot about apple and its usual practices.

I feel that it was. First they said that earnings would be a bit down, due to some mysterious charges associated with technology.

Then didn't a supposed ceo of marketing say something that there will be a coupon immediately after the annoucement on Apples website?

Seems suspicious that a it would only take a second to get on apples forums, then mysteriously disappear. Would normally chalk it up to rumor, but this one was right.

I also saw a slipped advertisement by AT&T for the new prices, something like a week or two before the announcement.

My two cents, they were hoping that it wouldn't cause a stink, but it did and they moved onto another plan, the refunds.

Seems thought out to me, but what do I know?
