No...way too many people still use wired headphones...if they wouldnt have kept it on this model, I don't know if I would have went for the rMB...I use headphones all the time...

What? I definitely wouldn't be buying the rMB if it didn't have an audio jack.

I am hoping that they will release a 14" model, the size of the current 13" MBA. Then it would likely also have more ports and more battery, making me a happy camper.

Same here.

A (friendly!) newsflash: there is this technology...they call it BlueTooth... ;)

But it's not to the point where the majority of people are using Bluetooth headphones. I don't.

Yeah, I know. It's just that looking at the rMB, it seems a good guess that they could have found room for a second USB C port over there instead. And maybe someone could tweak the USB standard to permit analog audio over the port? (Not my field.)

Not if they make a 14" screen version. It could have some room on each side of the keyboard? Please do apple!

That's not a bad idea actually, but something tells me we won't see USB 3.x in it either way.

You mean to say, we won't see USB Type A in it, right? Because the new MacBook currently supports USB 3.1 Gen 1 through the Type C connector, as well as through other connectors (using adapters). I'd assume that all new Macs will support at least USB 3.1 from here on out, whether they have one or more Type A or Type C connectors.

I guess he means no second USB port.
Anyway put me down for the 14'' version, I'd really love (and buy) that

USB DACs do this

A USB C DAC now that would be the answer.

I meant no USB A :p

As for the USB C, I'am pretty sure Apple would add at least one of them, but it would be like windows 8.1 - people wanted "start" menu back so MS brought back the "start" BUTTON alone. :D I hope they will realize (like MS now did with W10 start menu) soon enough, before they'll do something even more silly (like killing the current MBA line), that USB type A is essential for at least 5 more years or so. I mean, current high end PCs come with type A and A only, so this USB standard is not going to die anytime soon that's for sure and will continue to be the most widespread connector.

USB-C adoption is going to be quick, though. I'd personally rather have that than regular USB. People who need all those ports obviously won't be interested in the rMB.

it's not about which form factor you prefer, it's about what most equipment manufacturers prefer. Desktop PCs with USB-A have (and will have) much much much bigger marketshare than rMB with usb-c, so take a guess which they prefer. There comes inevitable conclusion that you NEED an adapter and will have to use it sooner or later (flash drives with both connectors is expensive one-time workaround, not a solution), if you think otherwise you are simply fooling yourself.

I hope for:

Better CPU
Better GPU
Micro Fan
Integrated Fingerprint Reader
More Memory
Upgradeable SSD
Replaceable Battery
More even keyboard lighting
13" Display

Can see all of that happening in future upgrades apart from the micro fan, upgradeable sad and replaceable battery. Not sure about the 13" screen although we may see a larger screen size.

Many of these, but NO micro FAN!

Here are many hopes that I share: better CPU and GPU, more memory and more even keyboard lighting. If a 13,3" display, the bezels should IMO be like Dell XPS 13's bezels.

Personally I would also like a shift to the screen ratio 16:9, as this more "square-ish" looking 16:10 display doesn't appeal to me as a more "cinemascopic" (film-friendly) 16:9 display does. (But on this point I think I belong to a minority.)

So last but by no means the least: I micro-fan sounds like a terrible idea. Just think of the potential noise! Small fans often emit such intense and often high-pitched noise. I am very very glad this new MacBook is fanless, and hope and think it will remain completely fanless. :)

You're definitely in the minority.

Could they redesign it in 1 or 2 years?

Yes they could redesign it in 1 or 2 years.

And here I am having to create a post that down votes this rather than just using a simple down vote button.
