I was thinking about this today. Its a really tough sell. The S3 in the UK is £199, for £199 you could get the Versa 3 for example, much more up to date, good battery, SPO2 to name a few features. You could get various Garmin watches. I'm not sure what Apple is thinking tbh, Sure keep the S3 but in no way is it worth £199, £149 yeah maybe.

No. S3 has lost all of its value by this point. Even a used S4 has better value than S3 brand new. The only point for recommending is brand new $99 and no higher, and then S3 might be a super budget Apple Watch for people who cant afford iphone 13 pro max.

I wouldn't recommend the S3 to anyone and am very surprised Apple keeps selling it. I would suggest a used or refurbished 4/5 instead, much better experience.

I probably wouldn't recommend S3 unless the person really wanted to have an Apple Watch and really couldn't afford the SE or S6/S7.

A person looking for any brand smart watch... not the kind of people I encounter. They're specifically interested in Apple Watch. People looking for a fitness tracker alone... sure, there may be reasons to go with something else. I don't run into them very often (yes, pun intended). But if they're looking for the kind of multi-function integration with iPhone that Watch delivers, imo nothing else will do.

Why would they stop selling a product people are buying ?

No it’s not. Some people don’t need the latest and the greatest and thus won’t spend that much. Where can you get a 4 for $200?
Not needing the latest and greatest? The 4 isn't exactly the latest and greatest. I'm still using the 4 and don't plan on upgrading to the series 7 this year. It's a great watch. The 3 lacks a bunch of things that will hinder it from being usable long-term (storage and processor speed primarily). I couldn't recommend the series 3 at all.

A lack of waterproofing is a big dealbreaker of the 3.
