Couldn't be happier with my new iMac!

Got my 27"iMac on the 6th of March. All I can say is Wow. besides being huge it is so much fun. One comment on the sound. I love it.The sound bounces off a very hard desk and love the way it sounds. Not everything is going smoothly but that is the fun of it. Got most of the stuff transferred over from my PC with an intranet. Man it was gigabit fast. Upgraded memory to 24 gig installed a blue ray burner and external HDD for back up. downloaded a bunch of software that I had bought before the Mac arrived.

Been to the mac app store and see lots of interesting things.

The downside of this Mac is that I am not seeing my wife anymore. She sits on the other side of it. I expect to see a shoe or something flying over the top of it soon. Thanks to everyone that answered questions and provided some help so far. I will be around,

I did migration assistant from rMBP to iMac using thunderbolt to thunderbolt. 5 minutes tops

Slightly rude.

As I said in my opening post, my iMac has no tinniness to the sound at all.

The 2013 27" iMac speakers are definitely more tinny then the old model. That being said you are not going to get great bass from an AIO like the iMac.

what was the speed through the thunderbolt when you were copying the files ?

It doesn't show on the migration assistant but just take about 150Gb of data and about 5 minutes and carry on from there
