And funny enough we just passed the guys called ATI ... With lots Nvidia power

yes. though it's bittersweet though since ATI is not really at full strength...

I live not too far from where ATI's HQ was; we all knew that it would be absorbed by AMD after the buyout...

...next up; Blackberry :(

Yey but to to state i am cpu only :( bloomin 5770

Will be upping to a 7970 3gb soon - that should help even more.

A 5770 should still pull down some points, no? (I can't remember which series it is where the points really start to take off)

and good luck with the 7970! I have 3 of them and they get about 90 K ppd each!

(and you'll do 100+ if you get the gigahertz edition and overclock it slightly :))

Right side of wrong
any idea how to tell the FAH to use the 5770?

all the info in google seems to be for windows clients

gpu folding is really for windows only. you can get it going in linux, but i've never heard of any success in mac os x.

also, are you gonna put the 7970 in a mac pro? i thought it uses a 1 x8 pin and 1x 6 pin and the mac pro only has 2 x 6 pin power connectors?

it does; but the version modded by MVC takes that into account. :)

ah yes forgot about that... and no running linux GPUs since AMD either :(

let us know how that works for you! I've only gotten one card from MVC and it's low-end but does work nicely!

(but since the drivers on nVidia have gone native in OSX I just buy off the shelf PC cards now)

Windows and Linux: the only way for successful GPU folding.

Linux works off the shelfs with NV cards very nicely; just depend on the right choice of driver (not different from Windows).

Now Mac OS X: the OpenCL driver provided are not as per required quality from Pande Group, no chance right now to get it running under Mac OS X.
I wonder if there is any good virtual solution under Mac OSX able to passthrough hardware to a VM running Linux and could drive (a second) GPU.

Slow down costabunny! You're hot on my little panda tail.

Always ;)

I like to keep all the furry residents of the macrumors-glade in check and on their fluffy little toes

(I also have been known to stalk frogs and bears when my mood suits)

Edit; also consider yourself lucky i only have one system running and on cpu only........ When i was in the eocf team i had 17 systems running!

I dunno what's going on with my current CPU WU. It says 17 hours for the last 10%.... it certainly couldn't have been 17 hours per 10% since I didn't even start that long ago!

Oh well... time to let the machine cool down a bit as I want to play games!

Can you share the log.txt ? What WU ? What hardware ? What power-setting ? What client ?

It says an hour and a half now. I dunno what was up. Maybe my CPU got too hot overnight and slowed itself down for safekeeping? No idea. You can see the time get a lot longer per step after the Date line.
