You do indeed get England in the World Cup, you would get wales/scotland/ireland too but we all suck at football(soccer) thats because we are separate countries but a United Kingdom with one central government (ish). However you do not get England in the Olympics, you get the UK, so if it is reported as England to you guys it's due to the press being ***** and not us being confusing!!

What weird though is that you never see any teams other than American ones in the World Series, Weird!! ;)

Not wishing to sound like a nit picking pain in the ass. But it's the UK, not ENGLAND, the UK is made up of England, Wales, Scotland and N Ireland. I guess like american sates. Us Welsh people get a bit pissed about being called England. It's kinda like the whole Canadian/American thing.

Again sorry, but i needed to vent it somewhere!!

Well not exactly like the whole Canadian/American thing. After all, the United States didn't conquer Canada in the 13th century, or dupe the Canadians by offering them and English boy as their own Prince, like the English did ...

Well, being pedantic, its not the United Kingdom, but Great Britain that contests the olympics:D

No indeed, we have been conquered so many times it's not even funny!! But what i meant was that Welsh/Scottish/Irish people hate being referred to as English. In the same way as Canadian people are not huge fans of being called American's.

I was in no way suggesting that the histories are the same, as they clearly are not!! We have no mooses and as far as i am aware never have!! Or is that mossei, i am not sure ;)

Indeed, i have never entirely understood why, passport officials get really pedantic about that one too if you put UK on a visa application form. Got quite a long lecture in the US embassy in London for doing that, oops!!

Not our fault you get English teams in world events like the Olympics and the World Cup.

It is rather confusing to me, and my parents are British subjects even.

When was the last time you saw a soccer team from California or Florida play in the World Cup?

England do not compete in the Olympics. It's a British team (GB&NI to be pendantic).

England, Scotland, Wales and NI compete as separate nations in the World Cup due to historical reasons (the 4 were original members of FIFA) and long may that continue.

Back to the iPhone...

Oooh shiny iPhone, i am going to be jumping every time someone comes to the door tomorrow!!

Hopefully 2.0 should be officially out by then, as i assuming we are going to want to upgrade the earlier version of 2.0 that is on them to the current version??

Pffft a slip of the tongue in my haste to make the point, which still remains.

Point remains, England competes on its own in Cricket, Soccer, etc.

US States do not.

You can install the AOL Radio app and at least get music back... sorta. :)

I've got Super Monkey Ball - I don't need music!

What's even worse for me is that I'm sitting by an Italian lake, but looking at a DHL tracking page informing me that, as I type, some guy from DHL is trying to deliver my iPhone 3G to me :(

The next few days until I go home are going to be sooooooo long.
