Yeah, I'm pretty boring, too.

USA, Canada, Mexico. Although in the US, I've visited every State West of the Mississippi, Illinois, Indiana, plus a smattering of East Coast states. (Florida, North Carolina, and the ones touching DC.)

Anyone worried about making an account can use spamgourmet.com like I always do. I'll explain if their website confuses you (like it did me).

I have noticed on this thread a lot of people have visited most of western Europe, however Portugal has been skipped a lot. Any reasons? (being Portuguese) ;) If you go to Spain you may as well take a short trip over

Reasons I have travelled all of Western Europe except for Portugal:

1) No highly interesting cities culturally or in terms of nightlife (to me).
2) Geographically out of the way.
3) NO CHEAP FLIGHTS or cheap flight+hotel arrangements!!!
4) Doesn't seem perfect for kids -- don't think beaches are perfect, no resorts with giant waterslides like in Turkey, etc.
4) -> no real, compelling reason to go, simple as that.

I'm sure Portugal is lovely, but in reality an exotic place like Sri Lanka or the Cayman Islands, perfect kid vacation places like Turkey or Tunisia, *or* a world-class city with charm and history that is centrally located like Budapest or Venice would win with me.

How many countries is that? Personally, I think the percentages are wrong.
I'd like to think that, too. I hate feeling as though I haven't seen anything.

So I guess I'll list mine out then:
  1. USA (citizen)
  2. Canada
  3. Mexico
  4. England
  5. Austria
  6. Belgium
  7. France
  8. Germany
  9. Greece
  10. Italy
  11. Switzerland
  12. Turkey
  13. Hong Kong
  14. Japan
  15. Taiwan
  16. Caribbean (the Bahamas)

If you go to Spain you may as well take a short trip over
I whole-heartedly agree. Whenever I get to Spain, you can bet your little Portuguese heart that I'll be seeing Portugal, too. :D

That's too bad. I know just about nothing about Portugal, but truly, it's a culture rich and old, truly historic. I'm fairly certain that at times, was quite the powerful nation what with its naval prowess and having been such an old nation practically guarantees that there's something of value for me to see and learn from. But that could just be me.

ahh lets see:
australia
china
israel
technically Egypt
UK
France
Italy
Switzerland
Belgium
Netherlands/Amasterdam
Canada
Bahamans
Virgin Islands
I stop at the airport in New Zealand

I want to go:
on an african safari/africa
Japan
South America (certain parts)
Mexico to see the mayan ruins
Galpagos

Australia, Cambodia, Cook Islands, France, Greece, Indonesia, Italy, Laos, Malaysia, New Zealand, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Vietnam.

my contribution. I've only added the separate states of the US, Canada and australia. These countries are too big to list as just one country....

So far I've only been to Mexico 3 times. I plan to visit Italy, Germany, Japan, China, Switzerland, England soon.

Good god that's sad. A year later and I've remained on British shores.

Over the next year or so I'd realistically love to visit the US and Canada. Just need a proper job first.
