So I’m 1 week into my new iPad Pro 11 and realized this OS is soooooo underpowered, so minimal that it’s embarrassing to see Apple market the iPad Pro’s as power houses when their OS is priminitive compared to the hardware.

I noticed we can’t have safari tab on the bottom like the iPhone. Why?
I noticed you can’t add widgets in the 2nd column even though it would fit with ease. It just goes down column 1 for no reason.
You can’t close/delete a new safari window when you add from the bottom unless you open the multitasking screen. Why?

The what kind of thing is the OS underpowered in? I'm not sure a couple of Safari features you perceive as lacking warrants any comparisons regarding the OS being primitive compared to the hardware. There are some exceptionally powerful apps, some are just as powerful as their MacOS counterparts - so the OS isn't really as relevant as most people try to portray for using the machines power. But I guess if widgets and the Safari tab bar are your focus, then perhaps you don't need the power to start with.

I can't say for sure, but if I were to guess its because the when holding a phone your thumb is closer to the bottom of the screen. But Apple changes the OS every year so its possible that feature might be added later. Try submitting feedback.

I think the reason is that it's still using that feature from the iPhone. I agree that you should be able to add more columns of widgets.

It makes sense if you think of them as a separate Safari app running rather than a Tab within the same Safari app. You normally can't quit apps while you are in them, you have to use the multitasking screen to do that. But you can do it from within Safari if you first switch to a different Safari window and then flick that one up.

And yet I am running both my Real Estate and Property Management businesses solely with my M1 iPad Pro 11 that replaced my MacBook Pro. My workflow is cut almost in half, and using a computer is actually fun again with the iPP. iPadOS is not underpowered. It is made to run a tablet computer and be easier and more intuitive to use. As with all OS's, it is a work in progress and will keep evolving and adding new features and more functionality. It has certainly come a long way from its humble and very simple beginnings to something that can replace the daily computing needs for many people. Check out the links in my signature to see how my iPP replaced my MBP, and what you can do with your iPad.
