MACCLESFIELD, England, Dec. 2 (UPI) -- A British couple said they are raising money for their dream wedding in Mexico by creating and selling their own pornographic films.

Lisa Brand, 34, and Tommy Barnes, 36, of Macclesfield, England, who have four children together, said they have thus far earned $2,163 from three pornographic films and are planning four more movies before their June wedding in Cancun, The Sun reported Wednesday.

"I have told my mum and most of my friends. They understand. It's always been our dream to have a fairytale wedding," Brand said.

The scenes created by the couple include a threesome, a hot wax scene inspired by Madonna's 1993 movie "Body of Evidence" and Brand spanking Barnes with a paddle.

"It's our five minutes of fame -- something to look back on when we're older. It has brought us closer together," Barnes said.

Good for them. Weddings are expensive and divorces are no cheaper.

which is why i think its pointless to raise all this money for one day. want to get married? great. do it cheaply, imo. it can be done. don't get me wrong, i understand why they are doing it, and that they'll likely make a good amount of money too, but i'd put it towards a downpayment on a house or something rather than a wedding. (although thats my rationale for not seeing any point in expensive jewelry such as diamonds too)

Don't worry, I'm sure the videos will continue long after the wedding goal is reached. I could be wrong, but people that find a good revenue stream tend to have a hard time leaving it behind. "We're doing porn to have the wedding of our dreams. Now we're doing porn to get a big enough house for our family. Oh, we still do porn so we can put our kids through college. What do you mean why are we continuing to do porn? Don't you know how hard it is to build up a nest egg to succesfully retire?" ;)

$2,163 from 3 films doesnt seem worth the embarrasment, hassle and everything else that comes along with what they are doing. They might want to reconsider their strategy if thats all they've made thus far from 3 movies.

Sounds true they must really suck as porn stars. now how will they deal with it when the divorce happens? that's tough porn movies with someone you hate. well now I know why they have not made much.

More like, the internet never forgets. Their great, great, great, granchildren will be able to view with pride.

My thoughts exactly. Fair play if you're going to do this, but it's probably a good idea to keep anonymous so your grandkids etc don't find it amongst the family videos.

Agreed. My wedding cost <$300 on the beach. We saved the money for the honeymoon.

Unfortunately, that's very true.

Agree.

Basically you have the big three:
  • Ring]
  • Wedding
  • Honeymoon

Each couple needs to do what works for them. Personally, I don't see a reason to go in debt.

That is what we did as well. We went pretty inexpensive for the wedding and hog wild for the honeymoon.
Sounds good.

I went to a friend's wedding ceremony here in Japan that cost around $70,000. There were 200 attendees. Granted it was very nice. Awesome layout. The food at the reception was out of this world. We all brought changes of clothes for the various portions of the ceremony, and the 3 receptions.

I want to get married by an Elvis impersonator at a drive through chapel in Vegas and spend all my money on the honeymoon. That's the way to do it. No spending 20 grand on a 3 hour long wedding reception.

It's such a weird coincidence, because my dream wedding involves a housewife and a plumber as well.

With all that money they can barely cover the round trip for one of them, seriously. They need at least $8K but for real no less than $12K.
