Couple of Q's (Notifications & Battery)

Hi,

New to iPhone, and I have a couple of questions.

1. I have google hangouts installed, and I have it set to show all notifications except a sound, however, I am not getting any notifications at all. No banner, no number on the icon - nothing. Is there anything I am doing wrong?

2. Under Settings / Battery, what does Usage and Standby actually mean? Is usage when I am actively using my phone, or does it include background tasks etc?

Hmmm, used a different Google account and invited my business account (that's used by Hangouts on my iPhone) and I didn't see any notifications (also confirmed the notification settings).

Maybe it's broke 😵
