I have a question for you Americans. If America was supposed to be all about checks and balances, why is it not possible for citizens to petition another court to have a corrupt judge put on trial and possibly fired from their job? Are they above the law?

If you can impeach the president, it should be possible to impeach a judge.

U.S. District Judge Denise Cote, who is hearing this case, is a federal judge in the Southern District of New York. That district is in the 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals. So if Apple thinks they have been wronged by a legal decision of Judge Cote's, they can file an appeal to the 2nd Circuit.

Each circuit court has a Judicial Council consisting of other judges who hear disciplinary or misconduct matters related to judges in that district.

If Apple, or anybody else, thinks Judge Cote is somehow "corrupt" like you mentioned or is guilty of misconduct, they could file a complaint with the 2nd Circuit Judicial Council. The Judicial Council can discipline a judge if a complaint is sustained. There is also a process where the US House of Representatives can impeach a judge.

If you are talking about corruption that drifts over into actual criminal behavior, like say taking payoffs, that would be a criminal matter investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by the Department of Justice.

TL;DR Yes, you can impeach a judge.

Wow, a convicted felon shown his place, yet again. Really hard to imagine, very unpredictable. LOL

Apple was not convicted of anything. They were never charged with a crime. The DOJ could've charged them but decided to sue instead.
