Anybody catch this one yet?

Yep! I saw it and thought that it was actually really good. The story developed nicely and you grow to really feel for the characters as the movie progresses. There's also some really cool scenes in it. The "aliens" and "cowboys" elements blend very well. Its a serious movie (nothing campy or silly) and it all plays out wonderfully. But I've always I liked westerns and I love sci-fi. So, I don't know if that maybe made me enjoy this movie more. If you don't like westerns, you may not enjoy this as much as I did. Either way, goofy title notwithstanding, I highly recommend Cowboys & Aliens.

I saw it and loved it! I thought Harrison Ford was better than usual. It looked like someone rolled him around in gravel before he played the part.

Probably one of the stupidest SciFi concepts since Plan 9 from out of Space.

Not really much less ridiculous than any alien invasion movie where modern man manages to stop and defeat the aliens. Which is about as realistic as the legions of the Roman Empire and the Roman Navy. Stopping a modern military invasion using bombers, fighters, tanks, battleships, aircraft carriers, heavily armed infantry &c.

That being said it will probably be fun to watch like Independence Day.
That's funny because that is exactly what I thought. The movie is fantastic. I enjoyed it.

I saw it a couple of weeks ago. It's your typical summer fun popcorn movie, meaning if don't overanalyze it and just enjoy the ride then it's entertaining. Last time I checked that's what some movies were about, having fun and being entertained.

I'd say it's worth a rental. I only saw it in the theater becaue someone paid for me to go. But, hey, I don't pay full price for just about any movie, because I'm frugal. :)

Yeah, I really liked it. Harrison Ford on horseback was fun. Also, liking westerns does help.

Excellent description of Harrison Ford. It was a nice performance.

At 39 years old I can say without a doubt that this is the worst film I have ever seen, and I saw Sex Lies & Videotape !!!

What the hell were they thinking !!!
