The cable cos still just don't get it, do they?
As long as these apps only work when connected to their own network, they are pretty much useless.
As long as I'm a paying customer, and have a valid log-in, they shouldn't care how or where I'm watching.
The more the powers that be in the entertainment industry treat paying customers like criminals, the more they're just going to push us all away, and into alternative solutions. Independent content creators deserve our support and hard earned dollars far more than these racketeers..
Love to see this for Dish, but correct me if I am wrong..
The big gatekeepers, the wireless and cable honchos, make decent dollars from just selling the bandwidth wholesale. But they make a KILLING by clustering all your services to together in tiers, and then, to get something good from level 4, you're spending over $100 for cable TV alone, and you're paying for a lot of crap you'll never want. Sure you can buy a season of a good show for about $35 (Mad Men, for example), and watch Netflix, and Apple TV. But they want to keep pretending that 500 channels is a useful way to transmit information to you, because that's where the Kabletowns make the money.
While I wholeheartedly agree, I will say this:
VPN
Will people ever be able to pay for only networks/shows they want?
...and not at $2 per old episode x20 episodes/season.
$1?
Since i have cox and my ipad has the app.. but yet wont work, says unsupported version, im assuming it wont work on jailbroken ipad?
any ideas?
That didnt work at all, list doesnt have cox provided yet, maybe in an xcon update it will.. i guess ill have to wait till theres a fix for it.
Cox tv... Hmm, I sense many innuendo jokes approaching.
I love to watch live Cox in my hands.
This is the future. If Apple can get all TV services (OK, a bunch of them) to put out apps and allow direct streaming to Live content, they can not only port Live TV services to all IOS devices, they can have them all be used with iTV and therefor ditch any boxes. When Steve "Finally Cracked It" it was with apps/IOS IMO.
Keep em coming

I personally hope that this isn't the future. So far, all these services require a cable-subscription plan. I want a future in which cable TV plays absolutely no role.
lol at Americans.
only you guys would be excited about an $80/mo iPad service.
please don't tell me you have to get a 12-month contract as well
