basically after i upgraded to sl it started to happen my battery life went from 4-5 hours down to 1.5- 2 so i started looking my fans are running crazy time and my temp is consistently up on the cpu 88 degrees even when nothing going on

no not running a server have a mobile me account but didnt think that would affect it.

how do i get access to my system. log?

Use Console.app (/Applications -> Utilities -> Console). See the attached screen shot. You don't need to cut-and-paste a picture for us, just use the Filter (top right) to search for rpc.statd and see if there are a lot of lines that repeat themselves.

So did you search for rpc.statd and found nothing?

I think this line is interesting:
03/01/2010 19:46:22 com.apple.launchctl.Aqua[154] launchctl: Please convert the following to launchd: /etc/mach_init_per_user.d/trial_expired_NTFS.plist
Have you installed some utility that supports read/write NTFS? I believe (but I'm not sure) those use some form of loopback NFS whick could trigger rpc.statd. You might try uninstalling that.

just deleted my nstf program well uninstalled all of it and restarted still no difference. did a search and it said it was something to do with servers but i dont have a server or anything server like connected with this machine.

urgh its very frustrating!

sorry guys ive got to go and wont have internet til about this time tomorrow. Thanks for all your help and if anyone does come up with anything please post would be massively appreciated!!!

hi guys any idea what this might be on the console i keep getting this -

I'd try reinstalling Mac OS X on your machine. Make sure you have your data backed up first.
