CPU upgrade for Mac Mini

I'm interested in upgrading the cpu of an intel mac mini, however I'm not sure which processors will fit the socket. Is there a simple way to know which cpus are compatible? I know many people have upgraded to Core 2 Duos, but how do I know which ones (core 2 duos) will work? Thanks for helping.

All the Socket M processors have been out of production for months. But they are available on eBay.

Either Apple has a stock pile or a special deal with intel.
