My brand new 2011 mbp 15" 2.3ghz 8gb 120gb ocz agility 2 Win 64bit Pro via bootcamp w/ cpu usage 1-3% but temp at 140-150f ?

Anyone know why this is running so hot?

It gets to around 155-160f while using demanding apps like Inventor etc..

Is this normal? Not sure what the temps are in osx as I had to send back a faulty ssd.

Sounds normal! Apple's incompetance with Windows drivers results in about 1/2 the battery life that you get in OS X, and about 2x as much heat. I swear there's no CPU throttling or something under Windows.

Well I'll know tonight how it idles on the osx side

as my owc merc extr 6g 240gb replacement arrives tonight

150f is only 70c and my Macbook Pro 13" (2010) runs about 80c when I play games. Idles around 50c. It's very normal. If you are concerned, download that lubbosfancontrol app and turn the fans up to a constant 2500rpm. You will hear a little more noise, but nothing unbearable.
