I tried out StarCraft II in windowed mode with low graphics settings. How is it possible that it used around 160% of the CPU? 😕 What does it mean? Is it damaging?

Your processor has two cores, each one capable of working to 100%, giving a total of 200%. Just think of 160% as 80%.

Modern Macs have multiple cores within their CPUs. Each core is 100%. So if a program uses two whole cores to the fullest, it will use 200%.

Hyper threading also gives even more virtual cores. My quad-core i5 MBP shows 8 CPUs. Handbrake can use over 700%!
