CPU Usage While Using Final Cut Pro X?

Hi,

Well, I'm using the 2011 13" i5 MBP, and I do a bit of editing using FCP X. Sometimes it freezes up, but iStat Pro says that the CPU usage is only 5%. So I guess my question is why doesn't the application take full advantage of the resources?

4 GBs of 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM. Gets up to 50% while exporting.

As in, 50% still free? I find when I get down to around 400MB free things start getting really slow / freeze. Is it crashing?

FCP X is so buggy at this point that I wouldn't blame anything on your machine yet. It has its issues on my 15" as well.
