Cracked back glass problem!!

I was replacing my cracked screen, then I noticed strip kind of thing which is attached to the back glass (which is cracked), is snapped.

What is it?
can it be fixed?

Looks like a cover or ribbon of somesort, I know helpful huh 🙄
