Whats the best way to get it fixed?

i looked at the apple store and they quote 300, which is ridiculous. a 3rd party quotes 200.

Im still looking around. what the hell is the incentive to get it repaired if its that expensive?

might as well just get a new ipad.

In the middle of several books.
With the good prices on iPad Air right now, I would just get a new one for $375.00 or so. That way, you don't have to worry about something else possibly being wrong with the iPad due to the damaged screen, especially if it was due to a fall etc.

Keep in mind that a third party repair will void your Apple warranty.

Depending on the iPad model, $300 may not be that bad. For example, if you have a 128gb LTE model, $300 is much less than just buying a new one.
