My iphone screen is cracked, as you can see in the photo. The touchscreen and LCD work fine, but only the glass is cracked. It is as iphone 4S. I am aware that for this version of the iphone, i must buy a Complete Assembly of the LCD and Digitizer. However, i want a cheaper way than the traditional $200 Apple fix. So, any ideas for cheap fixes? i saw the iFixIt video on how to fix it yourself and i am NOT willing to risk that. Also, if not cheap fixes. Is it possible to fill in the cracks with anything so its smooth and the glass doesnt fall? (ie. super glue?) idk if thatll mess up the iphone. just an idea. idk thanks for the help
DIY obviously is the cheapest, anybody else that guarantee you success is gonna be usd$200+ One of those see-thru protectors (cheap solution) should do it. Or Just tell yourself, Cracked Phone is Cool!
I've done several iphone 4 screen repairs and even though it seems extremely difficult it isn't that bad. The most important thing is to take things slow and make sure you keep all the screws and parts separated and labeled. If you have any kind of technical skills and some time you should be able to do the repair with no problem.
you CAN fix your iPhone 4S screen yourself Filling in the cracks with anytype of substance is not a good idea. You'll run the risk of losing all touch screen functionality entirely, but most importantly you can damage the LCD and then your iPhone will be useless all together. The iPhone 4S is relatively easy to repair (Compared to most other devices) We supply a great video guide on how to do it and you can get the part and tools at iPhone 4S screen replacements I suggest you get the full screen assembly because it's much easier to use to perform that repair.
LCD Recommendation Please Hey, I just started having a problem with my iPhone 4S screen/lcd. I can faintly see the previous screen/app I had open when going to another app. It flickers also. I've been going in and out of different posts and I see your name come up often. Do I need a new screen? Is it possible that the cable is just loose? If the screen does need to be replaced where is a good place to buy a good/durable replacement screen? I've gone online and have looked at reviews and over and over I'm seeing bad reviews in regard to part of the screen not working properly, very low quality, etc. I'm not getting a warm and fuzzy feeling about the quality on any of the sites I've gone to. Any advice/direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
It sounds like your LCD is malfunctioning. You can open up the phone to check if the LCD cable is seated properly, however, it does sounds like you will likely need to replace the screen. When buying a screen, make sure you buy from a reputable source that guarantees and warranties their products.
Thank you so much!! I just talked to my husband and he's going to do just what you suggested. I'm hoping it is just the cable. I really appreciate the point in the right direction for parts!
yea it does sound like the screen is failing and not a cable issue. i personally get my replacement screens from icracked.com and have never had issues with them.
Replacement Parts While iCracked does have some quality screens you can find that same quality for less. Look up places locally and then visit their site and see if they just sell parts. Find a good company that will at the minimum warrant your stuff for 90 days.
i know around me here in NJ, there are not many independent stores that fix cell phones or carry parts in stock. most around here are simply resellers and dont offer repair services. it may be hard to locate someone that does repairs.
Are you close to Vineland? I know I guy there that actually used to work with iCracked that is selling parts and doing repairs. He has also done work for the Casino there as well.
