My in warranty Macbook has a crack in the edge of the casing (over a little from the touch pad). Will Apple fix this, or do I have to live with a cracked macbook?

Really? That is horrible. I've never heard of such a thing. You better just throw it away and get a new one.

    Did you drop it?

They wouldn't fix that, but if it just sprung up, they should fix it(as long as you're MB doesn't show signs of abuse)

There are so many threads on this. Search first.

Apple is aware of this and in almost every instance is fixing them even after warranty has expired.

I suppose this could give us an idea about the future MacBook, it won't be made of this plastic!

Those that haven't cracked yet fall into 3 camps
    1. Their macbook is always used with an external mouse and keyboard and rarely if even leaves their desk
    2. Their macbook is too new to have cracked yet
    3. They are extremely lucky (their luck will run out)

I haven't been here long but there is constantly 2-3 threads on one page regarding the cracking issue, why dont people use the scroll button on their mouse??
Maybe someone should create a sticky thread which would stop this, its a waste of time reading/flicking through duplicate threads and not to mention server space.
