I just dropped my Iphone 5 face down onto concrete, cracking the screen. The touch part works fine. If I take it to the Apple store will they fix it if its jail broken? If not, what's the best way to hide all evidence of the jail break? Or is it easy enough to fix myself, and if so how?

If it makes any difference I'm in Scotland.

It's expensive to get the part to fix it, and if you have apple care they will replace it, but not if jailbroken.

Restore it then bring it back

I don't have apple care. Can I buy it then bring the phone in? Is it cheaper than buying the screen outright? Will erasing all settings, as I would when selling it, erase all jailbreak evidence?

Replace it yourself, it's really easy with the iPhone 5

Last time I was at the Apple store I was talking about favorite tweaks with some of the employees. If you are having them replace the screen and are footing the bill I doubt they will care if it is jailbroken.

Spend the $$$ and replace it yourself. It's 2 screws and a ZIF cable.

    IFixIt is a good resource.

And no, Apple is unlikely to replace it for less than what you'd pay for a new screen.

Don't try that from your iPhone as you'll end up in a loop.

    Hook upto iTunes and restore.

There's plenty of private FixStores (that's not a name btw) in Sweden. I'm sure there's plenty of them where you live as well.

    I would try there.

I might be able to get this done for free - it was given to me as a present, and the guy who bought it has mobile phone cover with his bank account. Just to be on the safe side I'm restoring it now. It'll be interesting to see how much I miss the jailbreak!

They do care, they won't exchange a jailbroken phone.
Usually for $ 150 they'll replace an out of warranty phone.
Just restore it. If you exchange it soon you can still jailbreak until alple releases 6.1.3.

You have to bring it in on stock firmware.
The replacement that you will receive then you can JB it when you get home.
