It's a sad day for America.

Now this is a stupid move by CBS, maybe he felt slighted not getting the Late Show gig. Or he just didn't want to keep doing the show anymore. Either way late night will suck again.

He said he didn't want the Letterman gig. So maybe he just wants to do other things. Or he is saving face.

Not gonna happen. He has a new show on HBO.

Sad to see Craig go. I was hoping he would stay but now I'm thinking CBS has decided to go with younger people.

I would hope not, at least in a traditional late night show format. I can't see Louis doing well in that. I would rather he stick to stand up and his show on FX.

Ferguson has not ben doing a traditional late night format for years now. Sure there are interviews but even those are not traditional.

If CBS wants to get younger they need to go even more outside the box than Ferguson was.

I think "late night" talk shows are not what they used to be. Cable television and the evolution of talk shows has really changed the landscape. For example, Chelsea Lately is a "talk show" with guest interviews, but it's drastically different than a traditional late night talk show. I like Ferguson, but in all honesty, I don't really watch talk shows like I did in the past. I just think things are so much different now with the internet, youtube, cable news, TMZ, etc..

    I don't know, maybe it's just me. :D

I would have loved seeing Jon Stewart take over Letterman's spot and Colbert do the 12:30 time slot.

    Just bring both shows over.

As they are now. Don't change the format at all.

CBS would be kicking ass if that happened.

Who ever takes over will want to do their own thing. I don't see a robot skeleton or pantomime horse staying.:p

Cable shows won't work as network shows. There is a reason they are on cable. They can push the envelope more.

I think you underestimate the power of Jon Stewart's show..It could be in prime time and win market share.

He would have to do twice as much to make it an hour show. Plus I don't think Comedy Central would let him go.
