    Hi,

I'm thinking of buying a MBP from craigslist. Do you mind if you guys look at this posting and see if it looks like a scam? I've already emailed the owner, and he replied back promptly with a phone number.

    Thanks.

it looks fine to me. as long as you do an exchange in person there should be nothing to worry about. the fact that the seller isn't willing to ship makes me think he is worried about being scammed and is not a scam artist.

It looks pretty legitimate to me, just make sure that the transaction is done in a public place (not his house or anything), particularly a place where there might be surveillance cameras in case if he were to do anything.

Thanks for your input. If he doesn't have the receipt, will I still get the warranty?

    Yup.

Just remember though that the s/w he's including most likely is not legit.

Do you guys think it would be a good idea to meet at an Apple Store? I can verify that it is indeed the newest version with multi-touch/penryn processors and that it still has the warranty. Oh, and also to make sure its not stolen :p
