I listed my MBP on Craigslist for $950. I got two emails offering $1000 or so for it. One claimed it was for his nephew and the other claimed he usually does cash deals but he is on assignment. Both want me to ship to some address (although it's verified/confirmed by PayPal) in Nigeria. The nephew guy already deposited $1100 into my PayPal. PayPal sent me emails notifying that he deposited the money and that it won't be credited to my account until I send the tracking number to PayPal. Anyone know how to deal with this? I'm thinking of sending a blank box with a tracking number to Nigeria. I'm definitely not sending my MBP or anything I own to Nigeria. Should I refund the money to him through PayPal or sent him an empty box with a tracking number just to mess with this guy?

Report it as a scam and move on. Send nothing.

On Craigslist or PayPal or both?

suprised you actually went along as far as you did...

Yea. I got 3 different scams offers and only two of them asked me to ship before asking my PayPal address. I got confused. The guy who sent the money only mentioned shipping AFTER he paid. Ugh.

The news in my city - a pregnant woman disappeared after responding to a craigslist ad.

They just found her body in a car this morning...
