I have a Cramshell with OS 9. It seems my finder is corrupted and I do not have the original system disk or the operating system disk. I wanted to load in OS 10.4 but the ram is too small for that. What do i do to get into the desktop to change the offending finder without a disk. I have tried using the shift key when booting but nothing is working. Is there a trick I can play on the cram such thatit will let me in? I am tired and frustrated buy this error 41!!

For a Clamshell Tiger is not your friend, especially if it is the first series without firewire. I would recommend panther or Jaguar as opposed to running tiger. Yeah they aren't as new, warm or fuzzy, but they get the job done.

If you don't have disks, you may be out of luck all together. You can always try zapping the parameter ram (Command+option+P+R) but I doubt that will help you much.
